Riding Lessons at Xhalt Equestrian Center

                        Riding Lessons For Kids

We are pleased to announce that beginning in June of 2007, Michael Peters will be offering his services as personal trainer to dressage students of all accomplishments and their horses here at Xhalt. Michael has extensive experience in dressage having been a working student at Tempel Farms for eight years and working closely with Karl Mikolka, George Williams, and Curtis Sage. We feel he will be a valuable asset to our community and to anyone interested in furthering their training as well as their horses' training through the upper levels of dressage.
For the horseless dressage student we are offering the services of  *Acatherina, our schooling mare for a nominal fee.
Of course, students with their own mounts are welcome to trailer in.
All non-Xhalt boarders are subject to a nominal arena fee.
    Below, please find Michael's bio.
If interested, please contact Phyllis Setter at 216-299-3069 or by email at: xhaltequestriancenterinc@yahoo.com
Thanks

Michael Peters working with a green Lipizzan Stallion in our arena.

I was a Tempel Lipizzans working student for eight years learning the
training of the Lipizzan Stallions from start to finish. I had the
opportunity to ride in their *quadrille performances and to learn the
different aspects of the "work in hand" and also learning through proper
handling and care "from the ground". By studying their behavior, as well
as the behavior of the many different breeds and types of horses that
were presented to me, I feel that I have acquired the necessary skills to
assist in the training of  horses of all breeds.
Tempel was a great place that had a lot of great trainers, 6 at one time.
I worked closely, with Karl Mikolka, George Williams, and Curtis Sage
and this allowed me a birds eye view of the training process which has
proven invaluable to me. I was entrusted with the care of two upper level
stallions which taught me a lot.
Being a working student brought different aspects to my learning. I
experienced many different clinics hosted by Tempel Farms from the
USET "Developing Rider Clinics", to the "Advanced Young Rider Clinics".
I was also involved in helping the farm host the Regional Championships,
and the Advanced Young Rider Championships.....
I have also experienced very closely the training and advancement of
dressage students and I have learned what it takes to bring along an
advanced young rider. Two were my best friends....
I have also ridden in the National Judges Forums, as a demonstration
rider, in which I received high marks. I have also observed  these forums
or many years. These forums are intended to teach the judges how to be
better judges and are closed events, however, being that I was a working
student, I was able to experience them first hand.
I have shown through fourth level. I have shown all different types of
horses, and I have had many of my students show as well.  I believe
that it is important to show and that it is equally important that the
horses/students be ready for such an event.
Lastly I would like to say that I also have managed a training facility
that consisted of eighty acres with three trainers (all dressage) and 5 employees.
Through my experiences at Tempel and Evergreen Farms, I have learned the
ins and outs of a properly operating dressage facility as well as a well rounded
understanding of what it takes to be a successful dressage trainer/instructor.

                        Sincerely-
                        Michael

                         * QUADRILLE: As it applies to the Lipizzan's performance, it is a military
drill performed to music and features several horses and riders.
                         * Acatherina is our schooling mare and; We are sorry to say we must limit
her payload to 165 pounds excluding saddle.
